Microneedling in London, Ontario
The Treatment
What is microneedling?
Microneedling, or collagen induction therapy, uses a motorised pen fitted with a sterile single-use cartridge of very fine needles. It creates thousands of controlled micro-channels in the skin at a depth we set for each area — shallower across the forehead and around the eyes, deeper over scarred areas of the cheeks.
Each channel is a controlled injury, and the healing response that follows lays down new collagen and elastin over the weeks that follow. That is why the results build rather than appear: skin looks fresher within a fortnight, but the structural change from a course keeps developing for three to six months after your last session.
It has the best evidence of anything we offer for indented acne scarring — rolling and boxcar scars in particular, where the problem is lost volume rather than colour. Icepick scars respond less well to any form of needling. We will tell you which type of scarring you have and what is realistically achievable before you commit to a course.
Benefits
Why Choose Microneedling at Kaaya
A treatment that asks for patience and a short recovery, and repays both with structural change rather than a temporary glow.
Improves indented scarring
Rolling and boxcar acne scars respond to collagen rebuilding beneath them, gradually lifting the depression toward the surface.
Builds real collagen
The wound-healing response generates new collagen and elastin, which is what improves firmness rather than just surface appearance.
Refines pores
Collagen laid down around the pore wall supports its structure, so enlarged pores appear tighter over a course.
Softens fine lines
Early lines around the eyes, mouth and forehead soften as the skin’s underlying support improves.
Evens out texture
Post-acne roughness and general unevenness smooth out as the surface renews across successive sessions.
Results that keep building
Collagen remodelling continues for months after your final session, so your skin is still improving long after the course ends.
The Ritual
How your microneedling session runs
Numbed, sterile and mapped to your face — with an honest conversation about recovery before we begin.
Consultation & scar mapping
We identify the type of scarring or concern in each zone and set the needle depth we will use across different areas of your face.
Topical numbing
A topical anaesthetic is applied and left for twenty to thirty minutes so the treatment itself is comfortable.
Cleanse & disinfect
Numbing cream is removed and the skin is thoroughly cleansed and disinfected before a sterile single-use cartridge is fitted.
The needling pass
The pen is worked across the face in a grid, zone by zone, at the depth set for each area, until controlled pinpoint redness is reached.
Serum & recovery mask
Hyaluronic acid and peptide serums go into open channels, followed by a cooling recovery mask. No actives, no retinol, nothing that would irritate.
Moisture, barrier & SPF
Mineral sunscreen, a written aftercare plan, and your next appointment scheduled four to six weeks out.
Suitability
Is microneedling right for you?
A great fit if you want to…
Expect to look sunburnt for twenty-four to forty-eight hours, with some tightness and light flaking around day three. Most clients are comfortable in public by the second day with mineral sunscreen and no makeup. Plan any wedding, shoot or significant event for at least five days after your appointment.
Concerns it helps with:
Rolling acne scars
Boxcar scars
Post-acne texture
Enlarged pores
Fine lines
Loss of firmness
Uneven texture
Before you book: when this treatment is not appropriate
Microneedling is not appropriate during an active acne flare, because needling through inflamed lesions spreads bacteria across the face. It is also ruled out by a history of keloid scarring, pregnancy, isotretinoin within the last six months, active eczema, psoriasis or cold sores in the treatment area, and blood-thinning medication without your doctor’s clearance. If acne is currently active, we start with a customised acne treatment and needle once it is controlled.
If this is not quite the right treatment
Where needling is not the right answer, microdermabrasion is the gentler option for surface texture and shallow scarring, and an algae peel achieves a similar renewal without needles. Between sessions, a Hydro Facial keeps skin clear and hydrated without interfering with the course.
